Books Wind2

Books Wind2 is the first large mobile system for the dehumidification, disinfection and cryo-disinfection of archival and book heritage.

The system, which was introduced by Fratielivi after a two-year development period, allows for the treatment of from 40 to 80 linear meters of documentation per cycle.

Books Wind2 today represents theonly certified solution present on the market to deal with the problems linked both to excess humidity in the paper and to the presence of mold and insects, without using chemicals potentially harmful to operators – as in the case of ethylene oxide – and the material to be treated – as in the case of peroxides and ozone.

Books Wind2, whose processes are governed by special software developed by Fratielivi, allows the library and archival documentation to be subjected to various treatments: dehumidification (hydrocondensation-drying); cryodisinfestation; disinfection (thermal stress and semi-pasteurization).

The plant it acts in full respect of the structure of the paper and of the bindings (whether in leather, parchment, wood, canvas, cardboard, etc.) and in total safety for the operators, the environment and the potential users of the treated material.

Books Wind2 has been certified – following in-depth studies and empirical tests – by two prestigious public research institutions: the Institute of Entomology and Plant Pathology and the Center for the Protection of Cultural Heritage from Harmful Organisms of the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart.

The tests conducted have demonstrated a 100% effectiveness of the cryo-disinfestation treatment in the fight against insects harmful to paper material and wooden works.
